Intro to My Blog
Hey everyone,
If you are reading this, thank you very much. I may know you, or I may not, but I appreciate you clicking the link and deciding to take time out of your day to read this when you could be spending time with your family, scrolling through social media on repeat, being productive, etc.
If you don’t know me yet, my name is Will, and I am a recent college grad from New Orleans. I like to think of myself as optimistic, personable, and energetic (Ex: my parents thought I had ADHD growing up). I also have a good balance of taking my work seriously but not myself, so hopefully, that makes for fun writing. If you know me, you’re probably wondering, “Since when did Will become a blogger? Dude hit a midlife crisis coming out of college.” Don’t worry; this isn’t my main gig, just something I wanted to do on the side.
Although I have written countless book reports, essays, memos, etc., through the American education system (thanks, mom and dad, for funding that), I would be lying to you if I considered myself a writer in any way, shape, or form. However, a mentor of mine once told me that there are four skills that, if you have them, you will end up doing alright in your career. Those skills are:
Writing
Reading
Being Creative
Communicating effectively
So, I figured I should try and bolster my writing skills by just…well…writing. This piece is meant solely to be an intro, not anything too substantial. I want to lay the groundwork for this blog by sharing the goals both for myself and for readers. Here are my goals for the blog:
What I am looking to get out of this:
Become a better writer
Learn and understand the Web 3.0 space better
Feedback on ideas I have or projects I am working on
What I am looking to provide:
Education about Web 3.0 in simple terms
Inspiration for readers to take action and delve into the Web 3.0 world
Open discourse where anyone can discuss anything they want (web 3.0-related or not)
As you can tell, I am pretty interested in Web 3.0 (basically anything that deals with blockchain, crypto, NFTs, etc.). Since this is my biggest interest, this is where a lot of my writing will focus on. I like to think I am not a one-trick pony in terms of my interests, so I don’t want to close the door on any other topic I may like to discuss. I also want to get feedback from any readers to see what y’all are interested in or what y’all want to hear more about, so please don’t be shy in the comments.
Now that the foundation is laid out, I want to talk about a few pieces I plan on writing over the next few weeks/months:
My journey into Web 3.0
My Proposal to Make a Crypto Class at Tulane
How to Learn Crypto in Ten Days (One thing to do every day that will take 30-minutes or less)
How to Make $____ for Free (list of every crypto company giving out money to use their product)
A Theoretical Crypto Hedge Fund
If this blog gets thousands of people reading it, great. If my mom is the only one who reads it out of sheer support for her son, also great. The point is not to make money from this personally, but rather to expand my skills and knowledge and whilst doing that, hopefully, help a few people along the way.
